Boca del Drago represents one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Despite its sometimes slightly crashing waves Boca del Drago
is as good as gold due to its beauty and mostly smooth waters. Particularly at times with the water being smooth and very clear, a patchy coral- and sand soil - directly at the coast near to the beach - offers a fine opportunity to snorkelling tourists. From the touristic point of view the island Boca del Drago is not as splendid as Red Frog Beach or Playa Larga on Bastimentos Island. There you are offered good chances to meet sea turtles; swimming is, however, rather dangerous because of the breakers at the beaches. You can reach the beach Boca del Drago either from the town Bocas del Toro or via Colon Island. Going on board a ship along the south coast of the island Colon, the tourists will arrive at the beach of Boca del Drago in about 30 minutes. If the sea is smooth, the boat can return via the open seaside of Colon Island so that a great view to the coast can be enjoyed. Furthermore you may use public means of transport, rent a bike or take a taxi. It will take 25 minutes to go by car.
